Title: Arms and the Man

Author: sam_storyteller
Pairing: Steve/Tony
Rating: R

Summary:  His best friend keeps cockblocking him, his relationship guru is a computer, and he might be gay. The future is very complicated.

Why We like it: I love, love, love, LOVE stories that deal with Steve coming to grips with being in the future. And this one is just perfect for it. Sam_Storyteller really weaves quiet the pathetic picture of Steve but handles it with grace — and don’t even get me started on JARVIS, his voice is spot on and I absolutely love it. I’m totally all for the bromance of Steve/JARVIS, it makes me so happy.

Title: Something Death Can Touch

Author: thatdamneddame
Pairing: Steve/Tony
Rating: PG-13 ish?

Why We like it: This one is another one from Steve’s POV, and it’s really interesting to me how the fic focuses on Steve being the one to throw a wrench in the relationship. It’s totally justified, and tragic, but you never really see a lot of fic out there than humanize Steve in such a way. Usually Tony is the one making all the mistakes. So it’s a different way of looking at things, and it’s enthralling and well worded and painful in all the right ways.

Title: While Everyone’s Lost (The Battle Is Won)

Author: jukeboxhound
Pairing: Steve/Tony
Rating: PG-13

Why We like it: This is the companion piece to Minor Fall, Major Lift, which I recc’ed earlier. It’s the perfect companion piece, at that. Steve’s voice is just as spot on as Tony’s and really the whole thing is beautifully composed. It captures a lot of Steve’s general confusion about things, but mostly about Tony. Because he’s an onion after all — the man’s got layers.

Title: Searching

Author: Kari_Kurofai
Pairing: Steve/Tony
Rating: PG-13

Why We like it:  You see, Tony Stark is like an onion — there are layers. Many layers. Most of them are painful and heart wrenching and bitter and probably covered in a few sloshly sack of scotch, but they’re there. And Kari captures them perfectly. She gave me so many feels that it was physically hurting me inside.

Title: The Minor Fall, The Major Lift

Author: jukeboxhound
Pairing: Steve/Tony
Rating: …sad. It’s rated sad. The end.

Why we love it: No one really tackles the idea of Tony suffering from PTSD and it’s an interesting subject to be swept under the rug. The author handles it with grace and caring, and it really is just a really lovely written piece. Comes with a handy little short cut for Steve’s POV if you’re so inclined to hear what the good Captain has to say about all this as well.

Title: Softly and suddenly vanish away

Author: Sidney Sussex (SidneySussex)
Pairing: Clint/Coulson
Rating: PG-13

Why we love it: Um…I…maybe might has sort of stumbled my way upon Clint/Coulson. I’ve been pining over Clark Gregg for the last couple of weeks and had wondered if there was any fic and WHAM. I was slapped in the face with Clint/Coulson and I kinda…I really kinda like it! This story was a heartbreaking introduction to the good ship Phlint (idk if that’s what they call it, I just made that shit up, because I’m a trendsetter or something) and the author has a really awesome   grasp of all the technology behind what’s being said. Nanobots. Damn. Anyway, give it a read! Ya’ll got any other good Clint/Coulson things to rec to me? Send me an ask!!

Title: The Last Love Song of Anthony E. Stark
Author: jibrailis
Pairing: Tony/ Steve, and Loki/Sif
Rating: PG-13

Why we love it: I’ve never read anything as intense and just…balls out, full tilt amazing as this. Jibrailis weaves mythology in to this story as easily as someone breathing, and the idea of Loki/Sif had never even OCCURED to me until this story and I’m kind of intrigued! New ship ahoy! Maybe.

Title: Check for Breathing

Author: astudyinchuck
Pairing: Lestrade/Mycroft
Rating: PG-13

Why we love it: This really was just beautifully written. Simplistic but still dashingly poetic, it doesn’t need a bunch of bells and whistles to get the point across. The idea of Mycroft being a statue is…gorgeous, and the awkwardness of it all is touching. I would love to see a sequel to this wherein Lestrade makes a statue of Sherlock for John just to see the differences in the elder and younger Holmes and how John would react compared to Greg. I found this on practically the last page of Archive Of Our Own after days of reading mediocre fic, and it really is just a diamond in the ruff. Bravo, just…bravo.

Title: A Thousand Threads of What-Might-Have-Been
Author: wordstrings
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Rating: R

Why we love it: It’s just wonderfully written. The gift John gives Sherlock for his birthday is so goddamned brilliant I want it to be fucking canon. I cannot even get over how utterly astounding this fic is. I mean, everything is beautiful and it kind of hurt but in the end nothing hurt and it was just…so damn good.

EDIT: This is actually like…the last fic in a series of fics. I just finished reading the whole series and it is FANTASTIC. Yall should check it out!
